RESUMEN

Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the awareness of cross-infection control measures followed by DHCPs during the 5th wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Omicron variant in a government sector university of Karachi, Pakistan. Method(s): A Cross-sectional study was conducted from June till September 2022 at Sindh Institute of Oral Health Science during the 5th wave of Covid 19 pandemic, Omicron variant. Data was collected from 153 DHCPs from government sector university using a self-administered questionnaire, comprising of 20 closed ended question to assess the awareness and practice of cross infection protocols by DHCPs. Result(s): 98.7% of the participants were vaccinated against Covid 19. 96% of the participants used surgical gowns, face shields, and face masks as part of PPE during examining patients and while performing procedure. After treatment 99.3% of participants washed hands with hand wash, soap or used antiseptic solution. 77.1% of participants asked for Covid 19 test report and 68.6% of participants asked for proof of vaccination against covid 19 before treating patients. 96.1% of participants recommended disinfection of dental unit after every patient. 98% of participants changed glove after every patient. 88.2% of the participants said they would carry all elective and emergency procedures. Conclusion(s): The results of this study show that DHCPs practicing at government sector university have adequate knowledge regarding prevention of cross infection protocols and their importance to limit spread of infections. But their practice of prevention of cross infection during Covid 19 pandemic is not ideal as percentage of DHCPs requiring proof of vaccination or negative reports for Covid 19 were rather low and the percentage of DHCPs willing to carry elective procedures along with emergency ones was rather high.Copyright © 2023 Lahore Medical And Dental College. RESUMEN

China has shown strong social cohesion and epidemic prevention and control actions in the face of the sudden new crown epidemic. This study uses questionnaire survey (N=208) data to investigate the important role of group factors and individual anxiety as mediating variables in the panic buying of the new crown epidemic through an empirical study. It was found that group factors significantly and positively influenced panic buying and individual anxiety significantly and positively influenced panic buying;government control significantly influenced panic buying through the mediating effect of group factors and individual anxiety. By exploring the mechanism of government control on panic buying and the role of group factors and individual anxiety as mediating variables, the study proposes thoughts on the way government control is guided in public crisis events. Government control is a policy risk, which affects individual anxiety through group factors and thus panic buying, and panic buying can lead to scarcity of goods and thus market risk. RESUMEN

Emotions understanding has acquired a significant interest in the last few years because it has introduced remarkable services in many aspects regarding public opinion mining and recognition in the field of marketing, seeking product reviews, reviews of movies, and healthcare issues based on sentiment understanding. This conducted research has utilized the issue of Omicron virus as a case study to implement a emotions analysis framework to explore the global attitude and sentiment toward Omicron variant as an expression of Positive feeling, Neutral, and Negative feeling. Because since December 2021. Omicron variant has gained obvious attention and wide discussions on social media platforms that revealed lots of fears and anxiety feeling, due to its rapid spreading and infection ability between humans that could exceed the Delta variant infection. Therefore, this paper proposes to develop a framework utilizes techniques of natural languages processing (NLP) in deep learning methods using neural network model of Bidirectional-Long-Short-Term-Memory (Bi-LSTM) and deep neural network (DNN) to achieve accurate results. This study utilizes textual data collected and pulled from the Twitter platform (users' tweets) for the time interval from 11-Dec.-2021 to 18-Dec.-2021. Consequently, the overall achieved accuracy for the developed model is 0.946%. The produced results from carrying out the proposed framework for sentiment understanding have recorded Negative sentiment at 42.3%, Positive sentiment at 35.8%, and Neutral sentiment at 21.9% of overall extracted tweets. The acquired accuracy using data of validation for the deployed model  is 0.946%.
